Vasectomy

Mabel Wadsworth Center is now offering vasectomies! If you are someone capable of causing pregnancy and don’t want to, a vasectomy might be right for you.

What is a vasectomy? Vasectomies are a form of sterilization where the vas deferens–the duct that transports sperm from the testes, through the prostate, and to the urethra during ejaculation–is blocked off, preventing sperm from entering the ejaculate fluid. Without sperm in the ejaculate fluid, you can’t cause a pregnancy! While vasectomies can be reversible, it is best to approach accessing this care as a permanent decision, as reversal is not a guarantee and it can be difficult to find providers able to do so.
